Luxembourg was an occasional trip when I lived in the Netherlands. It's long enough ago that I don't have a single photograph from any of it; well before digital cameras, well before my obsession with photography, and well before the cultural habit of documenting everything.
I remember little that's distinct about the country itself, which is exactly why it needs a return visit. I did Speech and Debate tournaments at rival schools in Luxembourg as part of ECIS. More vividly, we collected our family dog here, from a Tibetan Terrier breeder in the countryside for whatever reason, we'd all decided our dog must be a Tibetan Terrier, and that was that.
One of the unsung benefits of building this site has turned out to be the crystallising of a place: freezing it in time with photographs and stories so I can recapture it whenever I choose. A tiny war against the slow degradation of memory.
