My favorite thing about South Korea is the people - they are so kind and helpful.
Place stories in South Korea (Asia).
Transport. Get a T-money card for the metro and buses — Seoul's subway covers virtually everything. On Android there's a mostly functional app version, and you can get a refund on the card balance when you leave (less a small handling fee). Maps.me and Naver Maps are more reliable than Google Maps in Korea, which won't offer walking directions and is missing many local places.
Money. South Korean won (KRW). Cards are widely accepted, but many traditional markets and street food stalls are cash only.
Language. Korean. English signage is common in tourist areas and on the metro, and young Koreans often speak some English.
