Bakkagerði (Borgarfjörður eystri) is a small harbour village on Iceland’s east coast, often visited for the “elf capital” stories, coastal walks, and access to the Álfaborg rock. It sits at the inner end of a long fjord; many ring-road itineraries pass through here between the eastern fjords and Egilsstaðir.
